Make your IPTV trial count
A useful trial answers three questions. Can you open the player without help, find the programme you came for and watch it at the time you normally turn on the TV?
Make a shortlist before the trial starts
Pick one device, two programmes and a normal viewing slot. Use the remote and screen you expect to use after the trial. A clean test on a phone in a different room tells you little about the TV in the sitting room.
Give each test a clear result
Start the player from the home screen. Record whether the programme was easy to find and whether sound and picture stayed in step. Repeat at a busy time in your house while someone else uses the broadband normally. A short note with the time and device gives support something to reproduce.
Decide before you compare plans
If a must-have programme is missing, ask about it first. If the player is awkward to use, compare a supported option on the same screen. A longer plan changes the term you pay for, while the everyday setup still needs to suit you.
